Invisalign is available in Mercersburg PA

Many people are self-conscious when it comes to smiling. We all want an attractive smile that leaves a positive impression. If you feel this way, Invisalign may be the perfect solution for you.  Dr. Jacqueline Hughes of Mercersburg Family Dentistry features Invisalign, which is a clear alternative to traditional braces. Using aligners that are customized, Invisalign gradually shifts the alignment of your teeth during the treatment process.

Invisalign isn’t noticeable because the liners are virtually invisible. It is a great way to correct gapping between your teeth, crooked teeth, or other orthodontic imperfections in a discreet way. Invisalign is a very popular treatment for adult patients since they can avoid unsightly metal brackets.

Why Invisalign?

Many patients chose against using traditional braces since they may negative affect their job or lifestyle. As an alternative orthodontic treatment, Invisalign performs well in less severe cases.  There are several advantages to choosing Invisalign:

Flexibility – If you have a busy schedule, you can straighten your teeth without several appointments to come into our office. You will see Dr. Hughes every 5 or 6 weeks to make sure treatment is progressing.

Comfort – Invisalign is made of sturdy plastic, which makes it much less invasive that traditional metal braces. While you may feel tightness as you move from one tray to another, your mouth will acclimate quickly and you won’t feel continued discomfort or pain.

Easy Maintenance – Practicing good oral hygiene is easy with Invisalign.  Simply take out the trays before you eat.  Brush and floss your teeth before putting the trays back in.  You clean your trays daily, but otherwise, there is no maintenance needed.

Appearance – Invisalign trays are completely clear.  Hence, you can align your smile without impacting your appearance.

What to Expect

Getting Invisalign is a simple process. When you come for your first visit, Dr. Hughes will take some 3D images of your dentition and jaw.  Next, a detailed digital impression of your teeth. These impressions will enable her to effectively plan your treatment and estimate the required treatment length.  After the creation of your trays, you will return to our office for the final fitting to ensure your trays fit properly.
